White Chocolate Peppermint Matcha Latte

White Chocolate Peppermint Matcha Latte combines the earthy flavor of matcha with the refreshing coolness of peppermint and the sweet richness of white chocolate. Instead of peppermint syrup, I like to use peppermint tea for a more natural flavor.

Try switching it up and creating your favorite matcha latte flavors. Use other teas in place of the peppermint (chai, lavender, and orange spice are all great combinations) and switch up the white chocolate for dark.

Matcha tea is a nutritional powerhouse with some standout benefits that make it worth adding to your routine. For starters, it’s loaded with antioxidants, especially a compound called EGCG. These antioxidants help protect your body from oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and may even lower the risk of chronic illnesses. They’re also great for keeping your immune system strong and your skin healthy and radiant.

Another impressive benefit of matcha is how it boosts both focus and calm at the same time. Thanks to an amino acid called L-theanine, matcha helps you stay relaxed while also improving alertness. Paired with its natural caffeine, it provides a smooth and steady energy boost—no jitters, no crash—making it perfect for staying sharp and balanced throughout the day.

On top of that, matcha can support your metabolism. It’s been shown to promote fat burning and calorie efficiency, which makes it a great choice for weight management, whether you’re maintaining your current weight or working toward a goal. Plus, it’s good for your heart and helps with detoxification, giving you even more reasons to enjoy it.

To get the most out of matcha, stick with high-quality ceremonial-grade options. That way, you can fully enjoy all these amazing health benefits.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp matcha tea
  • 1 1/2 tsp finely chopped cacao butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup double strength peppermint tea
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 scoop collagen powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the matcha tea, cacao butter, sugar, and vanilla extract in a small cup.
  2. Bring the peppermint tea to a boil and pour into the cup. Stir to dissolve.
  3. Pour the matcha mix into a tall glass filled with ice.
  4. Add the collagen powder (if using) to the milk and foam it using a handheld frothing wand or in a blender.
  5. Pour the milk over the matcha tea and give it a good stir to blend.
  6. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of matcha tea to suit your preference. I like a strong matcha flavor, you may prefer less. If you're not sure, start with 1 tsp and add more as needed.
  • If you don't have cacao butter, you can substitute 2 tbsp white chocolate chips for the cacao butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. The calorie count is comparable. I don't use the chips because they have a lot of ingredients I prefer not to eat.
  • You can replace the sugar with your favorite sweetener. I often use stevia powder.
  • Enjoy hot by not using ice, ;) making it in a mug, and heating the milk to 150 degrees F before foaming.
