Organic Kombucha SCOBY

Organic 4" SCOBY used for making kombucha, a sweet tangy fermented tea beverage. It comes with 1 cup of strong starter tea to get you started on your kombucha journey. This SCOBY will produce 1/2 gallon of kombucha in 5 - 7 days. The starter guide explains the origin and benefits of drinking kombucha, how to make kombucha, how to do a second ferment for a tasty effervescent drink along with information on taking a break from fermentation such as when going on vacation.

These SCOBYs are grown in sweetened organic green tea. You should use the best ingredients when making your own kombucha and this SCOBY is. The SCOBY comes packaged with the starter tea in a heat sealed bag and is ready for immediate use upon receipt. It will continue to grow with each new batch of kombucha and if you desire, you can make increasingly bigger batches of tea as well.

You can use kombucha in a variety of ways. It can be drunk plain or flavored with your choice of fruits, juices, vegetables, and/or herbs and spices. When fermented for a longer period, it becomes similar to vinegar in flavor profile and can be used in salad dressings, marinades, and even a hair rinse!

Organic Kefir Grains

Comes with a generous 1 teaspoon of organic grass fed milk kefir grains to get you started on your kefir journey. It will initially produce 1 cup of delicious milk kefir in 12 - 24 hours. The starter guide explains the origin and benefits of drinking kefir, how to make kefir, how to do a second ferment for a fun fizzy drink along with information on taking a break from daily kefir culturing such as when going on vacation.

These kefir grains are grown in organic grass fed cow's milk. You should use the best ingredients when making your own kefir and these grains are. These kefir grains are fresh, need no rehydration, and are ready for immediate use. They will continue to multiply with each new batch so you can make increasing amounts of kefir as time goes by. The optimal ratio is 1 teaspoon of kefir grains to 1 cup of milk. The larger the grain to milk ratio, the faster the ferment.

You can use kefir in a variety of ways. It is a good substitute for buttermilk in salad dressings, pancakes, and baking and makes a tangy base in smoothies, milkshakes, and ice cream.

Organic Dehydrated Sourdough Starter

If you’re interested in sourdough baking, this organic dehydrated sourdough starter is just what you need! This convenient, shelf-stable starter makes it easy to begin or continue your sourdough journey with confidence. The starter guide covers everything from the basics of sourdough to rehydrating your starter. You’ll find tips on feeding and maintaining a healthy starter, a beginner-friendly sourdough bread recipe, and advice on achieving that desirable tang.

Each packet contains 20 grams of active dried starter (about 3/4 ounce), crafted from organic flours (wheat and a little rye), wild yeast, and spring water for a reliable rise, and dehydrated at its peak activity. The starter is shelf-stable in its original packaging, making it easy to store for future baking or to gift it to someone interested in trying sourdough.
